We’ve all been there – laying by the pool of your favorite beach resort or sipping a cocktail by the lobby bar, and in the distance, you see a beautiful couple surrounded by their closest family and friends getting married in paradise. Sounds great…. for them. But for a recently engaged couple, this only adds another additional layers of work and coordination on your end.

Better Together Travel is here to help! We can assume the role of sourcing resorts for your dream destination wedding and will work through the contract phase to ensure no detail is overlooked.

While we recommend getting us involved as early in this process as possible, here are some things to keep in mind when a destination wedding is in your future:

  1. Go in with an open mind on wedding dates. You’d be surprised how much rates and availability at resort properties can fluctuate week to week. Being flexible with the date can allow for amazing cost savings at the venues that otherwise would be out of budget.
  2. Before signing an agreement, gauge friends’ and families’ availability to attend. These agreements are a little more complex, and we’ll want to ensure that we enter the final phase of the process with information as accurate as possible.
  3. Go where the activities are.  Being that your friends and family will be coming from far and wide, it is important to pick a resort that has onsite activities, multiple food and beverage outlets and is in close proximity to points of interest for guests to enjoy.
  4. We love resorts that offer a  “1 Day / 1 Wedding” policy. A new standard is slowly emerging that can truly enhance your client’s experience. Some resorts – and the list is growing-  will agree that there will only be one wedding per day at the resort, leaving the staff’s full attention to your client’s big day!

There are plenty more factors to consider, and we’d be delighted to navigate all of them on your behalf!
